Daycamping with Turtles

All in a day’s work! 

Our volunteers were alerted to a nest close to Mermaid Lagoon. With the skills of our team leader, Dianne, the nest was located and relocated to the safety of the dunes.

Why relocate?

Recent weather events have caused erosion on Bribie’s beaches, which means turtles can’t make it up the dunes to lay safely. On the beach they are prone to further erosion, human activity and damage from vehicles.
