The Bribie Island Turtle Trackers volunteer across three key focus areas:
Nesting & Hatching
We monitor and document nests and hatchlings as they emerge on the eastern foreshore of Bribie Island.
Strandings
We rescue and document turtles that are stranded in the Bribie Island area including Beachmere, Godwin Beach, Sandstone Point and Spinnaker Sound.
Advocacy & Lobbying
Raising awareness about Bribie Island’s significant and critically endangered turtle rookery. We visit community groups and schools, participate in eco-fests and similar community festivals, as well as present to conferences and scientific gatherings.
